Yeşilyurt Belediye Başkanı Prof.Dr.İlhan Geçit, AFAD İl Müdürlüğü ile (TÜGVA) Türkiye Gençlik Vakfı tarafından organize edilen ‘Hayat Kurtaran Gençlik Projesi’ kapsamında üniversite öğrencilerinin katılımıyla Yeşilyurt Belediyesi Deprem Eğitim Simülasyon Merkezi ve Bilim Atölyesi’nde düzenlenen deprem farkındalık eğitimine katıldı.
Yeşilyurt Belediyesi’nin öncülüğünde AFAD İl Müdürlüğü ile (TÜGVA) Türkiye Gençlik Vakfı tarafından ‘Hayat Kurtaran Gençlik Projesi’ ile üniversite öğrencilerine deprem farkındalık eğitimi verildi.
AFAD İl Müdürlüğündeki uzman ekipler tarafından verilen teorik ve pratik deprem eğitimlerinde, deprem öncesi, deprem anı ve sonrasında neler yapmaları gerektiği konusunda öğrencilere detaylı bilgiler paylaşıldı. Yeşilyurt Belediye Başkanı Prof.Dr.İlhan Geçit’in de izlediği eğitim çalışmasını dikkatlice takip eden üniversite öğrencileri, bu ziyaret ile deprem tedbirleri konusunda merak ettikleri soruların cevaplarına da ulaşmış oldular. Deprem eğitiminin herkes için gerekli olduğunu ifade eden Türkiye Gençlik Vakfı Malatya İl Temsilcisi Mesut Demir, eğitim hizmetlerine verdiği önem ve desteklerden dolayı Yeşilyurt Belediye Başkanı Prof.Dr.İlhan Geçit’e teşekkürlerini sundu.

Afetlere karşı her an hazır olunması gerektiğini söyleyen Yeşilyurt Belediye Başkanı Prof.Dr.İlhan Geçit ise, “Malatya hepimizin malumu olduğu üzere deprem bölgesinde yer almaktadır. Geçtiğimiz yıl yaşadığımız büyük deprem felaketlerinde çok büyük kayıplar verdik. Doğal afetlere karşı bilinçli ve duyarlı olmamız gerekiyor. Afetlere karşı dirençli şehirler oluşturmak içinde eğitim hizmetlerinin önemli bir yeri vardır. Eğitim olmadan, bilgi sahibi olmadan yaşanabilecek olaylar karşısında çaresiz kalırız. 7’den 70’e herkesi bu önemli konuda bilgilendirmek ve bilinçlendirmek içinde tüm imkânlarımızı seferber ettik. Deprem Eğitim Simülasyon Merkezi ve Bilim Atölyemizde bu kapsamda çok değerli ve önemli eğitimler veriliyor. AFAD ve Türkiye Gençlik Vakfı Malatya İl Temsilciliğimizle ortaklaşa düzenlediğimiz deprem eğitiminde üniversiteli öğrencilerimizi ağırladık. Öğrencilerimizin akademik eğitimler aldıkları dönemde bu tür sosyal sorumluluk projelerine katılarak doğal afetler üzerine bilgi edinmeleri gelecek hayatları açısından önem arz etmektedir. Katılım gösteren öğrencilerimizi kutluyorum. AFAD’ın deneyimli ekiplerinin gözetiminde öncelikle teorik sonrasında ise pratik olarak deprem öncesinde ve sonrasında yapılması gerekenler en ince detayına kadar anlatıldı. Belediye olarak bu tür eğitim projelerinde yer almaya, destek vermeye devam edeceğiz.” diye konuştu.
